Corridor Samson, From Canyoning to the Verdon?

With all that we can do in the Gorges du Verdon we still find the energy to frame in water at 16°C... The Couloir Samson is surely one of the most visited places in the Gorges du Verdon. Indeed all the Tourist Offices of Canyoning caving and white water can offer this activity. Indeed this floating activity is set up by them and it has undergone some transformation both in its path and its regulations. The Samson corridor was discovered by Edouard Alfred Martel towards the end of the 19th century. The name of the path that crosses the Gorges du Verdon has even been attributed to this speleologist: the Martel path. The Floating du Couloir Samson is being transformed in view of the new car park which is being finalized.

In 2020, a consultation has been organized with the various tourism players in this place which will give rise to a new organization within the Verdon Natural Park. Thus a new parking area that can accommodate 100 vehicles and will become chargeable will allow better maintenance in the area of the natural arch of the Gorges du Verdon But let's come back to this descent which crosses the beginning of the Grand Canyon du Verdon. The duration of this activity is 1h40 on average with a return walk through the tunnels of the Martel trail. You will need a good combination of good shoes, a vest to facilitate your descent, a helmet and above all good attention in order to follow the guide's instructions. Basically swimming jumps are there. If you wish to have other information do not hesitate to contact us we will tell you more 😉
